The discipline of writing about technical matters. This can be manuals, descriptions, guidelines for repair or use of any kind, or such documents to be used for filing a patent or seeking an approval to market a product. It is also, at times, used for writing in a technical context, such as a web page or a computer game, which puts some special requirement on the writer – mostly to add tags and codes of different kinds in the right places, and knowing which of these to localize, how they can be combined, etc.
