Who we are
All of Life XL is a service from Inidox OÜ.
Our website address is: https://life-xl.inidox.com.
Inidox OÜ is a consulting company for writing, translation, and data analytics – working with both technical and creative topics. The Managing Director is Jörgen Winther, and you can find contact information and the company registration information at the main company website at www.inidox.com.
All of Life XL is a website with some static contents and other functionality, but its main focus is on articles. It is currently based on the software WordPress, which affects some of the ways it works. It is largely configurable and has been equipped with “plugins” (extra functionality) to adjust its look and feel, but certain details are given by the way WordPress is functioning at its core.
The contents cover life and all of its aspects broadly, and the site may contain information, photos, or other details that some would find unsuitable for themselves or others, such as children, so please do not just show it unconditionally to everybody. It is not made with the purpose of offending anybody, though, but it does show opinions and can be provocative at times – to inspire to thinking and further investigations of the topics mentioned in the articles.
The overall purpose of the site is to spawn new thoughts and a new understanding of how the world and the life conditions and social mechanisms of our societies function.
Remember: your thoughts are your own. We can only inspire.
Other websites can be related to All of Life XL, and these may be on separate web servers, having their own privacy policies.
Currently, Moments of Life by Inidox is available at life.inidox.com, and it is hosted on the Substack platform, which has a general privacy policy for the platform and all Substack sites – this counts for Moments of Life by Inidox, as this Substack site doesn’t currently have a separate privacy policy of its own. Please be aware, if using the site, that such a policy may be added. In that case, it will be visible from the site that it is there (in a menu or similar).
Other related websites may be added, and they will, as a basic rule, each have their own privacy policy.
Comments
We collect as little data about you as possible, and only when needed. Different services may be available at the website at any time, and it is up to you which services you want to use – if they require data from you, you’ll be asked.
You can always ask for your data to be deleted. For this, or any other inquiry, please use the website’s contact form, or use the unsubscribe link or similar option provided by the specific service, if it fits the need.
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
A registration as a user on our website is maintained until you or we cancel it, or until the website and its services are closed permanently. There is no automatic end date.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you upload images, we assume that you are entitled to do so, for the purpose the upload is connected to. All images must be in accordance with relevant laws, and they will be deleted, if they are not. We can only delete contents that we are aware of, so please tell us about any problems you see.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file with text information that is stored on your computer or smartphone, that you use for accessing the website. This is done by your web browser, when the web server asks for it. The cookie can be asked for by the web server, and then the web browser sends it to the server. This way, the cookie becomes a place to keep information related to your use of the website, without the web server needing to store this information anywhere else than on your device.
To use cookies, we need your consent, which you will be asked to give when beginning to use the website, and regularly thereafter.
Some cookies may be needed for the basic functionality of the site, such as remembering from a form to the confirmation, who submitted the form. To the extent possible, we will use only such necessary cookies, in case you didn’t give your consent to cookies in general.
As the basic functionality of the website platform requires the use of some cookies, you are urged to not using the website at all, if you cannot agree to any cookies being used.
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
The web statistics is using a cookie to be able to show us how many individual users have been visiting the website, instead of just how many pages have been shown.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
The use of a “cookie blocker” – a third party program on your computer/smartphone or an extension in your web browser, that prevents cookies from being written or read – may be useful if you don’t want cookies. Depending on what you do at this website, a cookie blocker may or may not interfere with the functionality, but you can try and see how it works, and then decide if it should be switched on or off for this site.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
If the contents on the other website is provided through a link only, this collection of data, etc., will only take place if you follow the link, i.e., click or tab on it, to open the page it links to.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. This email is sent to you only.
When using some services, provided by third parties, these may get portions of the data you have given us, to make the service possible. This can be your email address, for instance, to make it possible to send out a newsletter. Often, though, such services are utilized through software on our server, so that no data is shared with the third party.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
We can only give you data that we have, and also only delete data that we have. Any emails sent or data otherwise sent to other services or to you, are out of our control. The Internet has many log files and similar, where information about such as emails sent and received, and other data, is stored, and there are backups made of these. Most of this is the responsibility of other companies, organizations, or individuals, and we generally have no influence over it, nor any access to it. This is a general condition of the Internet and the way it works.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Changes
This policy may be updated without notice. It is always the current policy, that you can read on the website itself, that counts. We do not keep old versions of it. In cases where it may be necessary to document what the policy looked like at any particular moment in time, it will be up to the one who needs it to find a way to document it.
If you find that anything in this policy is problematic, or that we have not followed the policy in our actual deliveries, i.e., the services provided by the website, please let us know. We have no intentions to cause trouble for anyone with this service, so we will be happy to look positively at any suggestion to adjust things, as long as it is reasonable and in line with how websites like this one normally work and function.
Breaches
If you discover or suspect that a data breach has happened or could have happened – that personal data given to this website has been found elsewhere or used outside the limits of the consent given – please contact us through the contact form at this site, or through one of the contact options provided at www.inidox.com.
